The Visually Impaired Women T20 Cricket Tournament will be held at Pulchowk Engineering Collage Ground in Lalitpur on Saturday.
Women’s Dream Beauty and Multi Services, Electro Medical Solution, Nepal Blind Cricket Association and House Wife Association are jointly organising the event.
The main aim of the tournament is to promote women blind cricket along with raising funds for the education of visually impaired cricket players, says the organisers.
Organising a press conference in the capital on Sunday, organisers said that the two teams from Bagmati and Kaski will compete in the tournament.
On the same day at the same venue, National Cricket Team and Nepali celebrities are also set to play 4 overs friendly match, informed the organisers.
Besides cricket, the event will also feature live performance by various artists, display of local products, kid’s corner and food and beverage stalls.
Meanwhile, Nepal Blind Cricket Association’s President Pawan Ghimire informed that Nepali Blind Cricket Team will also participate in the Fourth Blind World Cup in November in Cape Town, South Africa.
Nepali blind cricket team is the first ever team in the world. There are 13 Nepali teams in the country so far.
Altogether nine teams including Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, England and West Indies will compete in the event.
