Day Three of the World Cup in the second match of the day, the opener for Group D Uruguay lost to Costa Rica 1-3.

Uruguay came to the battle with their key player, Luis Suarez, on the bench due to a minor knee surgery. But they played aggressively.

At the 24th minute, Edinson Cavani converted a penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner, sealing a one-nil by the first half. But Costa Rica dominated the game minutes into the second half.

Leading player Joel Campbell scored with a left footed shot to the center of the goal. And just in two minutes, Oscar Duarte goaled with a header to the bottom right corner. At about ten minutes left, Marcos Urena scored the 3rd goal, assisted by Campbell with a through ball.
