The 13th edition of Dharmashree National Open Bodybuilding Championship will be held in the capital on July 4 and 5, 2014.
Organising a press meet in Kathmandu Friday, the organiser Nepal Byayam Mandir informed that the event will feature around 300 national and international participants. “They will compete in six weight categories,” Mandir added.
Six players will be selected from each weight categories for the finals through pre-judging tournament on July 20, said the organiser.
Similarly, a player each will be qualified for the overall round from each weight categories. The players finishing second and third from each weight groups will be awarded with Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively along with medals and letter of appreciation.
In the overall round, the six players from six weight categories will vie for the title. The winner will bag Rs 200,000 while runner-up will get Rs 100,000, third Rs 75,000, fourth Rs 60,000, fifth Rs 50,000 and sixth Rs 40,000.
The estimated cost of the event is Rs 3.4 million, according to the organiser.
