Nepal’s No. 1 Shiva Ram Shrestha has taken one-shot lead over Sanjay Lama after the second round of Surya Nepal Central Open at par-72 Gokarna Golf Club in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Shrestha played a round of even-par 72 for a total score of five-under 139 while he carded five-under 67 on the opening day on Tuesday. Lama carded four-under 68 to stand at the second spot with the score of four-under 140.
Playing even-par 36 on both the halves, Shrestha shined his day with a birdie and added another on the 11th.
Similarly, Lama, a pro from Nepal Army, carded five-under 31 on the front nine with the help of an eagle on the seventh and birdies on the first, third and eighth holes. He carded one-over 37 on the back nine. He faced bogeys on the 10th and 18th holes and saved a shot on the 11th hole.
Likewise, Ramesh Adhikari played a round of one-under 71 with a score of two-under 142 to stand at the third position while Umesh Nagarkoti has slipped to the fourth position.
Nagarkoti, who shared the first-round lead with Shrestha, played a round of four-over 76 scoring one-under 143.
