Nepal Karate Federation has announced the names of eight players who will undergo a more focused training for the upcoming Asian Games.
In a statement on Thursday, the Federation said the eight players had been selected from a preliminary national squad of 21.
The four men and four women will be trained in closed sessions for a month and half.
Parsuram Bastola and Chanchala Danuwar are in the training for the single kata event.
Bijay Lama (55 kg), Mukunda Maharjan (67 kg) and Diwas Shrestha (75 kg) make up the list of men undergoing training while the women's category includes Anu Adhikari (50 kg), Malika Thapa (55 kg) and Ganga Devi Adhikari (above 68 kg).
The final list of players representing Nepal at the 17th Asiad will be announced at a later date.
The Asian Games is scheduled to kick off on September 19 in Incheon, South Korea.
