The second edition of the Kathmandu District Junior Inter-School Taekwondo Championship kicked off at the Dasarath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureswar, Kathmandu, on Thursday, with eight gold medals won on Day 1.
Jane Public School’s Prajol BK defeated National School’s Kabindra Khadka in the Boys’ U-28 kg weight category while Celebration’s Prabin Magar secured a win against Rising Star’s Ajit Pun in the Boys’ U-48 kg in the finals.
In the Girls’ U-23 kg, Kausal School’s Nishani Joshi edged out VS Niketan’s Susma Shrestha to secure first place.
Similarly, Rising’s Bidhan Shrestha won against Kausal School’s Anmol Adhikari in the Boys’ U-26 kg while Rising Star’s Sanjila Timsina beat Bijeswori’s Yogmaya Shrestha in the Girls’ U-30 kg.
In the Girls’ U-53 kg, Bimala Lama of Janajyoti School secured victory against The City’s Laxmi Shrestha and Bishwo Niketan’s Rejina Thakuri defeated New Shrine’s Sangeeta Pulami in the Girls’ U-49 kg.
In the Boys’ U-20 kg category, Rising Star’s Sachin Chamling won the gold medal after defeating Janajyoti’s Kamal Sunuwar.
The three-day event is organised by Nepal Taekwondo Association’s Kathmandu District Working Committee.
