Rising Star dominates in Junior Taekwondo C’ship

The Rising Star School has dominated the second edition of Kathmandu District Junior Inter-School Taekwondo Championship held at the Dasarath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureswor, Kathmandu.

Rising Star won seven gold medals, five silver medals and a bronze medal to clinch the title of the championship.

Similarly, Janajyoti School finished second winning three gold medals, five silvers and two bronze medals while Celebrity School claimed two gold, one silver and three bronzes to win the third place.

Sagarmatha’s Anil Gurung and Bijeswori’s Sarisma Shah were announced the best players of the tournament in boy’s and girl’s categories, respectively.

The three-day tournament was organised by Kathmandu District Working Committee of the Nepal Taekwondo Association.

Altogether 640 players of 32 schools of Kathmandu district participated in the tournament, says general secretary of the committee Bikram Khadgi.

"Though we have targeted 800 players from 40 schools, we have participation from 32 schools only due to exams of some schools."
