Nepal's U-16 squad

The Nepali openers needed just 6.1 overs to see off Thailand's 49-run target as Nepal started its ACC U-16 Premier campaign in Malaysia without losing a wicket in its opening match on Thursday.

Man-of-the-match Jitendra Singh Thakuri's five-for helped Nepal pack up the Thai batsmen for 48 runs in 32.4 overs after skipper Sumit Maharjan sent Thailand in to bat. Thakuri took his five wickets in 5.4 overs, giving away just three runs.

The Thai batsmen scored just 37 between them with 11 coming from extras in the 40-overs-a-side tournament. Just one Thai batsman, opener Agam Sanjay Shah, managed to get into double figures, scoring 17 before being caught and bowled by Thakuri.

Ashish Pokharel, Pawan Saraf and Bijaya Chaudhary took a wicket each for Nepal while 13-year-old left-arm spinner Anil Kharel took two wickets for 12 runs of seven overs.
Nepal's opening pair Susanta Singh Thapa scored 25 and Rabi Kumar Sah 16.
