U-16 team’s Jitendra Singh Thakuri, Ashish Maharjan get 2-year scholarship

Laboratory Higher Secondary School has awarded two players from Nepal's U-16 cricket team -- Jitendra Singh Thakuri and Ashish Maharjan -- with two-year scholarship.

The Kirtipur-based school, on Monday felicitated the duo, who are students there, along with assistant coach of the team Raju Basnyat.

The team recently made history winning the ACC U-16 Premier 2014 title held in Malaysia in August 14-20 . Thakuri had topped the ACC top wicket-takers' chart with 15 wickets.

After the addition of the U-16 title, Nepal has won all the age groups titles under ACC for non-test playing nations. Nepal had won the U-15 title twice, the U-17 once and the U-19 four times.
