Nine of the 10 passengers who were killed when a bus carrying people home for Dashain met with an accident in Dolakha on Friday have been identified.
The victims of the latest bus accident have been identified as Bimala Giri of Okhaldhunga, seven-year-old Urav Pradhan, Bishnu Laxmi Shrestha and Binda Shrestha. 72-year-old Nanda Pyari Chakubaji, Shanta Maskey, 40, and her 13-year-old daughter Ishu Maskey, five-year-old Nilesh Shrestha, and Ram Chandra Shrestha, 35 of Bhimeshwor Municipality. One of the deceased is yet to be identified.
The bus, numbered (Ba 2 Kha 9200), had been reserved by the passengers and was heading to Charikot from Dolakha. It fell about 300 metres down from the road at Nau Jhingane, Lakuri Danda at about 3 in the afternoon, according to according to DSP Suresh Kafle of District Police Office, Dolakha.
Nine of the passengers were dead on spot, while one died at Charikot Community Hospital. Of the 24 passengers injured, seven are said to be in critical condition. They are all being treated at various health facilities in Charikot. Nepalnews.com
