Death sentence for Delhi gang rape convicts

The two men, identified as Mukesh and Pawan, were two of the four men convicted in the case. They had approached the Supreme Court after the Delhi high court on Thursday upheld the death sentence for all four men convicted by a trial court.

Delhi high court Thursday confirmed the death penalty awarded to the four men convicted for the gang rape and murder of a 23- year-old medical student on a moving bus in December 2012.

The gang rape triggered widespread protests over violence against women in India.
