Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) has promised that the country will not reel under the scarcity of paddy products in spite of probability of the drought or any other obstacle, according to reports. NFC, which currently has 190,000 quintals of rice in its stock, is mulling to import additional 200,000 quintals from Japan and India.  “Even though the demand is increasing owing to the problem of drought dogging many areas, we have adequate rice stocks to fulfill the same," NFC general manager Hari Narayan Shah was quoted as saying.
A Food Security Monitoring taskforce has been set up by the ministry under the supervision of Dr Ram Dev Singh in order to ensure food security of the country as well as to check negligence in the distribution of food nationwide.

However, the NFC has not been able to reach a few zones due to road conditions and adverse weather conditions.

It is said the demand quotient has reached more than 300,000 quintals which will be catered to by the end of a month. nepalnews.com

Unless and until the nation doesnot sanctioned and impement the law to cultivate
the land in industrial basis the food crisis increases.

Government is
dividing the cultivating lands in small pieces which will have adverse effect in
production.
