Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday said that the augmenting budget deficit of the country has much to do with its inability to increase the volume of domestic productions.

While inaugurating the 11th Industrial Expo organised by the Rupandehi Industry Association, he said, "In today’s world of globalization, it is not possible to compete with foreign products without increasing production of quality products.”

He also stated that political instability has also cast blight on the economic growth of the country. “It is not that our country is bereft of resources. However, ceaseless political anarchy has stifled the inherent potential of the country to take a big leap in economic front,” he reasoned.

PM Nepal also stressed on the need of building robust physical infrastructure to hasten the socio-economic growth of the country.

“Realizing the significance of physical infrastructure for better future of the country, the current government is making utmost efforts to construct new international airport in Nijgadh, Bara, fast-track to link Kathmandu with the Terai region, enhancement of airports in Pokhara and Bhairawaha, among others,” he stated. nepalnews.com
