The Second International Himalayan Guide Pathivara Marathon and Tourism Mahotsav-2010, will be held in Phungling Bazaar of Taplejung district from February 10-14, 2010.

The prime objective of the two events is to introduce the Taplejung district internationally as one of the best tourist destinations in Nepal, according to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

The estimated cost of organizing "Second International Himalayan Guide Pathivara Marathon and Tourism Mahotsav-2010" is Rs 1.5 million.

Himalayan Guide Nepal Treks and Expenditure Pvt. Ltd is the main sponsor of the events.

The major highlights of the events include different games like marathon race, mountain bike hike, volleyball, badminton, paragliding arts, quiz contest, religious song, folk and cultural song competition.

The Tourism Mahatsov will be exhibiting agricultural products and other handicrafts produced by the local people of Taplejung.

The other attractions of the Mahotsav will be food festivals and street drama.  nepalnews.com
