Home Minister Bhim Rawal has made it clear that the government is not going to consider the proposal of leading businessmen for permission to keep armed guards for their security.

During a meeting with the delegation of the business community Wednesday, Home Minister Rawal said the government was not in a position to accept the proposal at the moment.

The Home Minister asked the businessmen to wait for some time to see improved security, Surendra Bir Malakar, chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, who was present at the meeting, said.

"You will feel safe within a few days," he quoted Home Minister Rawal as saying. Malakar said the businesspersons were not convinced by the Home Minister's assurance.

Representatives of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) and NCC were present at the meeting.

A delegation of FNCCI on Tuesday met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to convey the worry of business community in the wake of series of attacks on businessmen, abduction and extortion and demanded permission to keep weapons armed guards for security. nepalnews.com

yes bhim rawal you have the guts not to recommend armed guards in private homes
otherwise the rich lootar marwaris will start employing in their homes as
slaves
the true nepali people and who knows they might get killed by our own
people when they were obstructed on their mission. Good Nepali must speak in
favour of Nepali no matter a nepali is bullied, pick pocketed by a nepali
because we are brothers after all.

No matter whether he or she is businessman or woman everyone is same and counted
as human. Every individual will need security not just for those lunatics called
business men/ministers etc..

We all have shared equally for our country nepal
and i would rather say that since you guys are (both businessmen &
Government)working closely together to pocket the public and donated money of
the country you have become fatter than expected. The only slimmer are those who
never get the shares and aid donated by other nations.

Therefore, the bottom
line is; Mr Rawal must provide security for everyone in the country if we are to
advance further than expected. If this is not going to happen then we are now in
deep trouble and it will come sooner or later.

You will feel safe within a few days said Home Minister Rawal. Is there any
logic how he is goingtp provide security. Does this boy know how to make the
nation safe? Very incompetent Minister of the nation.

I am of the opinion that not only business persons but every citizen should have
the right to keep personal arms in "modern" Nepal. Why should only
good-for-nothing politicians have a fleet of security personnel for their
protection? We are equally enled to protect ourselves and our families.

Given the worsening security of the country and the helplessness of the
government, it is a timely proposal. Every citizen who wishes to possess weapon
for personal and family protection should be allowed to keep arms legally. That
is the only means of curbing the current situation. When everyone has a weapon,
a person coming to attack will also fear because, he/she will know the other
person will also have arms. Infact every person in the U.S. has weapon for
personal defense. They do not beleive the government could provide security, or
they do not trust the government. So it is useless to trust such a weak
government in Nepal. Therefore, everyone should be allowed to hold weapon for
personal defense. It is not fair that only the politicians are allowed to keep
arms and guards for protection and to attack the public whenever they wish. Yes
people should have their own arms to counter attacks from political gundas.

This home minister is nonsense! He wants criminals kill unarmed gurad and
civilian. If you can't protect Nepalese, give every Nepalese of at least one
pestol for self protection from crinials and terrorist! Valid the trainig for
making weapon and using them appropriately for all Nepalese! We don't want one
side killing and other side just gettiing killed. Take and give policy must be
adopted. If somebody spray one bullet then he must get at least 2 bullet.I know
it mustn't be, but it is too much and we can no longer tolerate the excessive
National Criminals and terroist in New Nepal.

If Ministers can have armed guards why can't the common people have that as
well. The chauvinism and the feeling of superiority of our politicians must
change. I am sure all the leaders move around with guards with weapons hiddenly
clandestinely. Let us be realistic and practical. With so many criminals and
terrorists on the loose we need to take some drastic steps to protect the
ordinary citizens. If not lawlessness prevailing in the country will further
deteriorate making the country the worst place to live in. Once a zone of peace
has been altered to a zone of perpetual war and conflict. Thanks to the dirty
politics and avarice and greed for power for a few leaders.
