Over two dozen persons have been killed in separate landslides ensued by incessant rain since past three days in the far western region, Tuesday.

12 persons have been killed when a landslide swept two houses in Mastamadau VDC of Dadeldhura and 11 persons have been killed in Patalkot VDC of Achham in a separate landslide.

The entire families of Dambar Bhool and Bijaya Bhool perished in Dadeldhura’s landslide. Dambar’s wife Mata Devi Bhool, son Thagunna, daughter Kumari and nieces Basanti and Hema Bhool, and Bijaya Bhool’s wife Padhma Devi Bhool and children Ramesh, Mahadev and Binod Bhool died in the incident.

Two persons were rescued safely from the landslide area.

Likewise, at least 11 persons belonging to four families got killed when a landslide occurred in Patalkot-9, Achham at about 10 am, Tuesday.

Those killed include Khuge Bohara, Suraj Bohara, Bhava Kumar Bohara, Tara Bohara, Jamuna Bohara and Paru Bohara. Police have said, they were facing difficulty in rescue operations due to the remoteness of the place.

In Bajhang, eighteen-year-old Juna Kumari Upadhyaya and her sister two-and-half-year old Panchakala Upadhyaya died when their house collapsed this morning. Purna Bista has been killed in a different landslide in Dipayal.

More houses are at the risk of landslides as the rain has not stopped.

The incessant rains in the far west has inundated some villages and swept away recently harvested paddy from acres of land in Mahendranagar.

Highways and supporting roads have also been blocked due to other landslides. nepalnews.com

we know that one of the cause of flood is deforestation but we are not giving
care to it. Instead of planting trees we cut it because of which flood take
place and every year lots of people are dead. We cant stop the things which is
out of our control but we can try the thing which can be done from our side.
Every year we celebrate environment day once in a year and plant the plants but
we don't take care of that plant whole year. why we just do drama by acting as
if we are conscious about the environment? Nepal can be profit through the
jungles its own environment will be clean, natural calamities also can be
controlled and it can earn money from other nation by taking the money for
preventing from carbon dioxide. Nepal must seriously think about it.
