A day after appealing to the Maoists to call off their stir and come to the negotiating table, Nepali Congress (NC) President Girija Prasad Koirala met Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at his residence in Maharajgunj Monday afternoon to reiterate the same.

During the meeting, Koirala is learnt to have personally requested the Maoist chief to withdraw the nationwide agitation the party started from yesterday saying that the political parties were not serious towards their demands.

In response, Dahal said that the Maoist party will keep the doors for negotiation open while continuing with their nationwide protest programmes, which he assured will be "peaceful".

The NC president also urged the Maoist leadership to allow the parliament resume its normal business and pass the budget so that essential services related to health, security, education will not come into a complete halt owing to government bodies not being able pay their staff and meet their daily expenditure.

Reports quoted source having access to the meeting as saying that Dahal was positive about allowing the House to open for passing the budget.

Earlier in the day, Maoist chairman Dahal conferred with civil society leaders on the prevailing political deadlock.

At the meeting, Dahal asked the civil society leaders led by Dr Devendra Raj Pandey to extend their help to the Maoist agitation to uphold civilian supremacy.

He said the Maoists were forced to wage the nationwide protests as the political parties didn't agree on their demands.

The civil society leaders, in turn, said they have been calling for the "correction" of the President's move on the army chief row right from the beginning as it was "unconstitutional". However, they also requested the Maoist chairman to remain aware towards the possibility of the "peaceful agitation" of the Maoists turning violent due to infiltration of nefarious elements. nepalnews.com

Now the battle has been ended because, monarchy has been wipedout from the
popular peoples movement inclined by all democratic polotical parties and civil
siciety.

It will be wise to Maoist leaders for the nation that they should
take part in dialogue with the major political parties rather than agitation
nationwide. People in Nepal have been tired of the hanging the proces, strike,
agitation and now they want to breath safely and soundly. Let the people give
that environment by avoiding the agitation and seeking scientific dialogue.

I, being a citizen of Nepal(at present in London) want to beg our politicians
to stop all these agitations as soon as possible. As the people of our country
are illitrate on which the result will always the same. even if there is war for
revolution, nobody can get the benifit of that because of illitracy. So the main
and the first step for all of the rulers should be the establishment of litrecy.
The country is getting 50 steps back day by day, still the leaders are behaving
in the same manner... So I urge to all please stop the war as soon as
possible... WE ALL WANT PEACE......

13 years jungle habitat made maoist bugger an animal. It shows that they were
not fighting for the betterment of the country and its people but for the wealth
and position. If this is what you wanted why had you been to jungle? Rather you
could have done some good thing on land because you would have a chance to work
with people. Come on change yourself and your team for sake of some change, now
you have to say something?

Don't you have shame Pushpa kamal? and who gave this
name to you? you are pathetic jack hole. Do you understand English? You are hope
for wost. Nothing to say much but to hate you. We love those we love Nepal and
its people..........

The existing Civil Society body is useless in Nepal. Everybody knows what the
civil society has to do for welfare of the people. But the chief and the members
of the civil society are not impartial. The personnel like Devendra Pandey,
Krishna Pahadi,Dr(?)Sunder Mani Dixit are all the puppet of the Maoist. Instead
of looking after for general people they always take side of the Maoist
Prachanda and fight for them. As such, they should be kicked out
immediately.They are the rotten RAT.
