 Jhala Nath Khanal
Two days after the main opposition Unified CPN (Maoist) started nationwide agitation against the ruling coalition, chairmen of CPN-UML and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) flew to New Delhi on Tuesday to hold parleys with top Indian leaders.

UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal left for New Delhi on an Indian Airlines plane at 5 pm. Talking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport before his departure, Khanal said his meetings with Indian leaders would dwell mainly on Nepal's constitution-making process and the peace-building efforts. Ways to find a solution to the current political stalemate would also figure during discussions with the Indian leaders, he informed.

 MJF chairman Upendra Yadav
During his five-day trip, the UML chairman will meet Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh, chairperson of ruling Congress (I) Sonia Gandhi, senior leaders from the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Communist Party of India and senior government officials, it is learnt. He is visting Delhi at the invitation of the Indian government.

Uday Raj Pandey of the UML's foreign cell is in New Delhi from the past few days to make necessary arrangements for the UML chairman's visit.

UML central member Arun Nepal will accompany Khanal during the latter's visit.

Likewise, MJF chairman Upendra Yadav also flew off to New Delhi today in what he termed as a 'personal visit'. He had returned from his New Delhi visit only a month ago.

Former Prime Ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba and Surya Bahadur Thapa had also visited India last month. nepalnews.com

Pant,Dibakar,In the US  - Are leaders of Nepal sons sovereign nation !   |75.168.190.xxx |2009-11-03 16:26:30
Severally shame on all disloyal and dishonest politiciams of this proud and
beautiful Himalayan country,Nepal, for their anti-nationalist nad hated acts like
running to India to worship and blessing.Of course,India is a great and sacred
pilgrimahe to millions of Nepali Hindus but its not place to seek resolvement of
internal and political problems of sovereign nation. It would be far beneficial
and useful to have kind of consultation with shadowed monarch rather than
visiting Delhi to please Indian leaders. One must not forget that India always
first try to fulfill its strategical gain and never helps Nepal at the cost of
its interess
and never and ever be very helpful to tiny nation which has been
proved since 2007 B.S.Wake up ! politicians,be a true and honest son of mother
Nepal and find a solution in Nepal than to pilgrimage to Delhi.Jay Neapl !

Gorkhali  - Someone help us again   |202.79.40.xxx |2009-11-03 15:40:38
Now as the situation of our country worsens, leaders are again flying to Delhi.
I don't blame India here, if there is anything wrong, it is totally our fault.
Our political leaders choose what to do. They need Indian help to solve problem.
India has helped Nepal many times, no doubt, we cannot forget what brothers have
done. However, Nepal needs to be capable to solve our own problem without
anyone's help and it is completely up to us. India will be always willing to
help Nepal militarily, socially, politically, economically and any way possible,
however, we need to stand up on our feet to face challenges and problems of our
country. Please don't blame India for our mistakes.

Shame to the so-called "leaders" of political parties in Nepal. They are
again licking the es of their foreign masters in Delhi or somewhere else abroad.
The country is turning to the days of 1950s. I feel ashamed to be a Nepali to be
cognizant of the fact that my country is subjugated to the rule by foreign
hands. 'Leaders' abandon the slave mentality of yours otherwise the next suanmi
will turn against your party headquarters! Time to liberate Nepali motherland.
