President  Yadav
With the UCPN (Maoist) deadline to the government to correct the President's 'unconstitutional' move or allow it to be discussed in the parliament ending today, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has started high-level political parleys to save his weak coalition government from a premature death.

PM Nepal called on President Ram Baran Yadav today morning to discuss the current political crisis in the country.

The two discussed a possible solution to the parliament deadlock for the passage of the budget, it is learnt.

During the meeting that went on for one hour, PM Nepal informed the President about the problem the government is facing due to the delay in approval of the budget.

Minister for Federal Affairs, Constituent Assembly and Culture Minendra Rijal, who also attended the meeting, later told reporters that the President and prime minister have reached a conclusion that the country has fallen into a deep crisis due to the parliament deadlock.

Immediately after the meeting, PM Nepal went to his private residence in Koteshwore where he met UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to hold important discussion to find a common resolution to end the impasse.

Dahal himself had come to meet PM Nepal cutting short a meeting of the top leaders of his party in the Maoist party headquarters in Paris Danda.

The meeting between the prime minister and the Maoist chairman is significant as it comes just few hours before the Standing Committee meeting of UCPN (Maoist) party which will take up for discussion, among others, the ultimatum the party has given to the government and the future strategy of the party. nepalnews.com

A fortune teller  - At your risk or peril!   |80.10.46.xxx |2009-11-21 08:19:03
There are three possibilities remained for a country like Nepal which does not
find its place amongst the independent nations because of her incompetent
political leaders and the spineless populace that voted for a lawless party
called as Maoist:1. Find immediately consesus to advance as a law abiding
country and draft the Consti..tion. 2. Be desolved into India to become one of
the provinces of India. 3. Let China become the main ally and master like in
Tibet.
All these three hypothetic conditions are subject to the risk or peril
of clauses attached to each of them. Now go!

Maoists are starving Nepal... The Australian government travel advise for Nepal
is even worse.

Read It: Crime such as ault and theft against foreigners,
including tourists, is increasing due to the poor law and order situation. aults
and robberies occur in the evening in areas that are poorly lit but attacks also
occur in broad daylight. There have been armed robberies and aults (including
ual aults) on tourists. Women, in particular, should not travel alone.

Petty
theft is common and is increasing, especially at tourist sites, airports, on
buses and in hotel rooms. Pick pocketing and bag snatching are common in
Kathmandu, particularly in tourist areas. There are increasing reports of
foreigners being injured in the course of these incidents, in particular when
bags are pulled from pedestrians by ailants on motorbikes.

Extortionists
continue to approach trekkers and climbers demanding 'donations' or 'taxes'.

The premier ought to be the person be all and end all. There is no place for
Maoists at the leading post of the premier because they resigned from the
government at their own. They have not made permanent reservation to occupy the
post of the prime minister. As such they are in opposition because of their free
will decision.
Nobody is accountable for their soul-searching and erratic
behaviors. If they go on insisting they breach the national laws and orders, as
such they should be treated as criminals and must be arrested to put them under
custody. There is an equality of treatment for everybody Maoists included. Put
them behind the bar otherwise they will sell Nepal to China to grab the
mainstream power!!
