Three days later, he was admitted to the hospital. He died seven days after being diagnosed with swine flu.

WHO urges hospitals to remain alert

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged Asian countries to prepare for a surge in swine flu cases in winter.

A winter surge is a real possibility in the South-east Asian region, said Samlee Plianbangchang, South-east Asia director of WHO, on Wednesday in Kathmandu, where a meeting of health ministers of 11 countries is taking place.

The hospitals in the region should be prepared for a surge of severe cases requiring active case management with anti-viral and other supportive measures, Plianbangchang said.

It is important to allocate appropriate resources and maintain the overall pandemic preparedness, he added.

The WHO has also urged for more public awareness programmes about the disease. nepalnews.com

Hello dear Nepali brothers and sisters,

Are we waiting for foreign
people
to
ask us what action we are required to under take for improvement
of
things
in our country ? Is it a culture ? I appeal to all my friends, Let
us
be
honest to call spade a spade. Let us oppose reckless driving and
blasting
horn causing deaths and injuries every day making many orphans, widows
and life
long physical disability, because of this lawlessness (chhada
pan).
Weare
immitating the western civilisation on
various things like
wearing of
attire,
using the modern equipment, working
and almost whole life
style, but
failed to immitate their discipline along with them. Let us oppose
the bad
doscipline on the Nepali roads. They are terrorising by horn and
speed
!!!!
