Flood death toll rises to 57

The latest death toll in the flooding western districts has been tabulated to 57, much higher than earlier figures.

Eight deaths reported from Bhajang during Wednesday’s landslides and two deaths in Baridya and Salyan districts reported on Thursday increased the death figures.

Eight people were killed in landslides in Sadi, Bajha and Deule VDCs of Bajhang. In Bhimapur Bardiya, a man atop a tree trying to escape from the swelling flood was swept away along with the tree. In Salyan, a flooded Nauli stream swept a 7-year toddler from Kaprechaur-7.

Dead bodies of two persons, who went missing in Dang district after they were swept away by swollen rivers, have not been discovered till Thursday evening.

One of my friend is proceeding from India via Nepal Ganj to Ghorayee in Nepal.
Whether as per flood situation in Dang District as per report on internet, the
land route is open or he should postpone his programme.
