A domestic aircraft met with a minor crash in Syangboche of Solukhombhu district on Wednesday morning. There were no reports of human casualties or serious injuries while the aircraft itself suffered only minor damages.

The Pilatus Porter aircraft belonging to Tara Airlines was to fly Kathmandu with 5 foreign tourists and 2 crew members when it met with an accident in the runway before becoming airborne.

Eyewitnesses accounts have it that the light aircraft that is mostly used for such high-altitude air travel had lost control while attempting to take off and crashed into the wall of the small airport.

The airport authorities immediately swung into action and managed to bring the passengers and crew members out of the airplane.

The aircraft itself suffered minor damage in its back end, right wing and tires.

Although the main reason behind the crash was not immediately known, the airline officials said that it might have occurred due to some technical glitches. nepalnews.com
