Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is all set to increase the load shedding hours to 17 hours a week starting this week. The revised load-shedding time-table has not been finalised yet.

Director of Load Dispatch Centre at NEA Sher Singh Bhat said, the increase of load shedding hours was required as the demand for electricity has risen with the advent of winter. At present, the production of power is about 550 MW, while demand reached up to 850 MW at peak hours.

NEA was imposing a load shedding for 12 hours a week so far. nepalnews.com

If it is the fact that the electricity supply is not enough as per public demand
there will be load shedding to the normal people but what about the country
looter political leader?Because they are also Nepalees and they are also living
in this country.

It is well known fact that load shedding will increase in winter as there are no
alternative sources.
People in Nepal only blame NEA, but never discuss how to
conserve the power. If we go to government/private or other offices in nepal
people are burning heater all the time, which is very irresponsible act. Like
wise people in nepal never concern about others, when they have electricity they
use full potential without thinking that other part of country is in load
shedding. It is completely foolish of us only to blame NEA after knowing the
fact that country has no alternative source of energy.

It looks that there is no seriousness on the part of Govt & the NEA to ease load
shedding. If you recall past(last year), it was 16 hours load shedding per day .
The Maoist Govt that time showing it as an emergency case imitated & planned to
install Thermal plants to ease the load shedding. But when they could not
materialise their own benifit in this case. The planned vanished. One year is ped
now, no attention was paid by the NEA and Govt as if nothing has happened. Now
the time has come and the NEA boasting itself as if it has done good thing had
declared extensiion of load shedding keeping people in dark. This has been their
routinal work.
