Three foreign tourists who had entered the sacred Gupteshwor cave, one of the famous tourist spots in Pokhara, have gone missing since Wednesday evening.

Reports quoted police as saying that one Indian and two Korean tourists did not return after entering the cave located at ward no.17 of Chorepatan, Pokhara sub-metropolis. It is learnt that they didn't take an experienced guide along with them.

A rescue team comprising police and locals have intensified search inside the cave and surrounding areas since early Thursday morning to find the missing tourists.

All the missing tourists are said to be men, but their identity has not been known yet.

The entrance of Gupteshwor cave is right across from Devi's Fall, a spectacular waterfall.  The cave, which gets its name from a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva that is preserved here in the condition it was found,  is said to be almost 3 km long with some passages where you have to crawl on all fours.

Tourists are always advised to go visit the cave with an experienced guide. nepalnews.com
