The Chabahil area of the capital remained tense for a while when a local bus ran over a school boy on Friday morning.

Seven-year-old Iron Lama, who was seriously injured in the incident, was rushed to nearby Om hospital where he soon breathed his last. He was going to school with his friends when the passenger bus hit him while crossing the road.

The deceased is the son of Mit Bahadur Lama, a resident of Kavre district, and studied at Pashupati Mitra Secondary School, Chabahil.

Angry students, locals and relatives soon blocked traffic in the very busy Chabhahil area after the accident and demanded punishment to driver and proper compensation to victim's family.

Police had to resort to baton-charge to take the situation under control. In the process, many, including pedestrians, were injured.

The bus and its driver are currently under police custody. nepalnews.com

In relation to this news, I do not only blame the driver's neglience but, also
the concerned guardian/s of the child. It's the duty of the child's guardian to
see their child to and from school. Moreover, in Nepal, children are always
fooling and playing on the busy roads of Kathmandu.
Therefore, each and every
individual must play their role in creating this chaotic and busy traffic of
Kathmandu less vulnerable from accidents.

THESE STUPID BUS DRIVERS AND THE COMMITTE OF THESE BUS SHOULD FINED AND JAILED
FOR THE NUMBERS OF YEARS THAT THEY EVEN CANNOT IMAGINE.
COZ OF THE NEGLEGENCE
OF THE DRIVER AND FROM THE SUPPORT FROM THEIR COMMITTE THESE TYPES OF BAD
INCIDENT R HAPEENING TIME AND AGAIN.
SO IN THE NEW UP COMING LAW THIS ISSUE
SHOULD BE STIRTICTLY IMPLEMENTED...

Goning through the news article cited above,on Nepal News.com,I felt sad
on the sudden demise of Lama boy in a accident. However, this sort of accidents
often take place where traffic system is poorly manged by the state.Accidents
everywhere occurs, but the difference here in Nepal is :no strong laws have been
rectified to safeguard the life of innocent citizens. The best options to
safeguard the life of individual citizen is to think deeply on how to manage
better traffic system at the earliest.Otherwise jungle of traffic would be
inevitable to cause the death of many lives in the days to come.

Very sad news. Angry students, locals and relatives infact all nepelese should
blocked Parliament house until the leaders fix the traffic and highway rules
(code) What a backward country no traffic rules, no public safety shame on the
bhat kharuwa leaders.

The bus/Truck drivers in Nepal always seem to be boasting up thinking that they
are the one who can travel at whatever speed they can, and they are the dominant
of the road that they are travelling in. Disregarding the general public`s
safety. Unless there`s a strong law to punish them severely, the situation will
never be improved.

This incident took place thanks to unmanaged traffic system of the country. To
over come such incidents , concerned department ought to make an effective
regulation and implement strickly very soon.

Sorry to read such a bad incidents often in Nepal, the main problem is, no
controll of traffics, uneducated Police, no proper trafic regulation,. The worst
traffic regulation in Nepal, and it is beyond its controll now. These happens
from the corrupted policy of Govt. There are only the fcking politicans running
nepal. I would stop donations from the forein donors. It is very sad such kind
of govt is running.

Shame nepal on the world vision.

Jai Nepal.

As always, police has only one way to control....baton-charge by illitrated and
stupid police. Why....because they all are corrupt and bribed by microvan and
buss drivers. Never they control the trafic, help young people to cross the
road. Just hanging the whole days near a wall or sitting on the
fences....looking like the most ignorant and stupid people to be seen in Nepal.
How many children have to be killed before police takes action......or maybe PM
should change his shedule, cancel his political appointments for daily morgue
visits
