During the visit, Shah offered puja at the local Indrashwor temple and donated Rs 2 lakh to the Trust of another temple.
Speaking to media persons, Shah said he wished for peace in the country. “My wish is that the people live in peace.”
Sporting dark sunglass and his signature Kurta-Payjma, the former King was cheered by a group of royalists when he arrived in Panauti. The group also chanted pro-monarchist slogans.
Security had been tightened in Panauti and along the route during his visit to the Mela.
It was Shah’s first public appearance after returning to the capital after an extended stay in India last month. nepalnews.com
