Police have identified the person who shot at Janakpur based media entrepreneur Arun Singhaniya on March 1, Kantipur daily reported.

Arjun Singh, alias Mukesh Chaudhary, had shot Singhaniya, a source said. He is still at large.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dhanusha Shyam Khadka, instructions have been circulated in all police posts to arrest Arjun Singh along with his picture.

Police identified the shooter based on a text message sent to  Singhaniya’s cousin Pawan Singhaniya by a woman in Kaushaltar, Bhaktapur.

Rani Sharma, an employee of a cooperative in Bhaktapur had borrowed her colleague’s cell and sent a message to Pawan Singhaniya saying, ‘Baba Bivas’ had murdered Arun Singhaniya, and Pawan Singhaniya, too, will be shot.

In her statement to the police, Rani said, she had sent the message in the instructions of Rubi Sharma, alia Sharma Aunti of Janakpur. Police have arrested both of them.

Police have suspected the shooter could have fled to India. The motive behind the murder is still unknown. nepalnews.com
