Nepal Army (NA) is preparing to recruit more soldiers following the Supreme Court (SC) decision to scrap writs filed against the recruitments.

Army spokesperson Ramindra Chhetri told media on Friday, the army would recruit more soldiers, but the number was not determined.

NA headquarters has directed all sub-ordinate commands to update the number of vacant positions in the respective commands within a week. The recruitment process will begin next week after determining the number of vacant positions.

Sources say, about 8,000 positions in army are vacant at present and NA is preparing to fill up 5,000 position now. NA has approved positions for about 95,000 soldiers.

NA had begun the recruitment process by advertising for various technical positions in April. It is preparing to intensify the recruitment process following the ‘green signal’ from the court.

Earlier, NA’s attempt to begin the recruitment process had been obstructed as the defense ministry refused to give permission saying the issue is sub judice. The obstruction has been resolved after the court ruling mentioning the issue of army recruitment does not fall under its jurisdiction. nepalnews.com

Stop consuming national budget, which could be used to provide food, clothes and
medicine to people in naturally, and developmentally hard affected people in
remotest parts of Nepal and in the Cholera affected areas. Donor's please don't
give any Funds to spend on such RIDICULOUS purpose. Nepal can't even control a
common diarrhoea, why do we need army? Declare Nepal a PEACE Nation, with UN
support and let it be free from any ARMY. WE just need vital Sashastra prahari

NA should refrain, and defence ministry shd really CUT nepal's ARmy number, as
they are NO USE to the country. They are there only to SIT ON Nation's property
and resources and CONSUME Billions of RUPEES and food from the mouth of HUngry
poor people of Nepal. THey didn't save KING's own family, they didn't save
KALAPANI, They are not protecting our BORDERs. They RAPE common poor people in

Thats good to recruit new soilders which will also helps to generate
employment.
For the nations prosperaty, what we all need is Soilders, Workers
