The Unified CPN (Maoist) has claimed that cadres of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML were behind the murder of two of its cadres yesterday.
Issuing a press statement Tuesday, the Maoist party said cadres of NC and UML were directly involved in the killing of Birendra Raya, an area committee member of the party in Dhanusha district.
According to the statement, a gang of 25 to 30 brandishing pistol and khukuris fatally attacked Raya at Bhatiya around 11:30 am on Monday.
Likewise, the party claimed that cadres of NC, UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party plotted the murder of Lagam Liwang Limbu, the village committee secretary of the CPN-Maoist in Taplejung district, Tuesday evening. Hired gangsters shot him dead at Kopche area around 7 pm, the statement said.
Condemning the murder, the CPN-Maoist demanded action against those involved in the killings. The party also demanded that the government declare Raya and Limbu as martyrs and provide proper compensation to their families. nepalnews.com
