Over 50 Maoist cadres who were arrested along with nine lawmakers while staging protest against the President's 'unconstitutional' move in front of Singha Durbar Sunday morning were released later in the afternoon.

The Maoist lawmakers were released within a couple of hours while other Maoist cadres were detained a few more hours.

Police intervened as soon as the Maoist cadres started sit-in protest at the southern gate of Singha Durbar where the local administration has banned protest rallies.

Those arrested included Ram Lal Bishwokarma, former chairman of National Dalit Commission, and Maoist lawmakers Tilak Pariyar, Binod Pahadi, Tej Bahadur Mijar, Hari Shripali, Santoshi B.K, Jhudki Devi Paswan and Min Kumar Sunar. All the arrested Maoist lawmakers come from Dalit community.

Apart from protesting against the President's move, they were also remanding end to discrimination against Dalits.

Today's protest was in a series of agitations carried out by the Maoist party against the President's move reinstating the sacked army chief, which led to the fall of the Maoist-led government.

The Maoists organised major mass assemblies in all five regions last week as part of their protest movement. nepalnews.com

Its trend in Nepal that whenever they feel like to protest the politicians
protests. Instead of people demanding something good for the country,
politicians are protesting infront of Singadurbar for nothing. Now, whats up
with these Dalit issue. This is not the stone age my dear politicians stop
protesting for something like that, country needs to move ahead in several other
aspects.

Those who protests and disturbs the entire population no matter
in what way, they needs to get beaten infront of people and send it to jail for
at least 2 years. It includes all that ignorant YCL and all those follows these
kind of uncivilized way to demand something. By doing so atleast there wont be
any other chicken in the road with burning tyre.

Be mindful!! is that an appeal or something else.. well mate i guess you have
been frustrated by the way the country has had moved in the past. But just
answer to my question. if you had to choose in between.. wat would you choose..
a completely anarchic situation where you dont have a cognitive capacity wid
you.. or you would like feudalism... I feel that most of us would like to be
ruled by one lion than by a thousand mice... as one lion will only seize our
power but those thousand mice will not only seize our power but seize everything
from us.

Please be mindful and don't forget, the Maoists party is the largest party which
represents almost 50% population of entire Nepal.

We want to be liberated
from the feudalism, never ending curruption and the nepotism and win equality
regardless of ones caste and creed. This is the wish of the majority of Nepali.
Please support. We are suffered long enough by the monarch and NC after the
Panchayet and Rana regimes.
