Six people have died in separate incidents in various places across the country in the past twenty four hours.
Two persons died when the motorcycle they were traveling in collided head on with a truck coming from the opposite direction on the Pipara VDC section of the East-West Highway in Kapilvastu district Saturday night. The deceased have been identified as Bhakti Ram Bhusal, 39, of Sitapur VDC, and pillion rider Lekhnath Ghimire, 35, of Thada VDC, Argakachi district, according to District Police Office, Kapilvastu. They died while being rushed to Lumbini Zonal Hospital in Kapilvastu for treatment. Police have held the truck and its driver.
In another incident, Sushil Poudel, 25, of Halvar VDC, Dang, died after his motorcycle (registration no Ra 1 Pa 4888) rammed into a van (registration no BA 2 Kha 2548) that was parked along side the road in Lalmatiya section of the East-West Highway in Dang.
Critically injured Poudel died while undergoing treatment at Kohalpur Medical College, according to the district police.
Similarly, Prem Srish, 74, a resident of Gulmi was killed when a tractor (registration no Lu 1 Ta 6186) hit him at Padsari in Lakhan Chowk of Bhutwal-Bhairahawa road section. He died while being rushed to the hospital.
Seperately, two persons died after being buried in a mud slip in Baglung district.
The victims have been identified as Jamuna Karki, 20, and Kamala Kishan, 26, of Pala VDC.
The two were trying to dig for some red mud when the loose soil cascaded down and buried them under it.
Three other women were injured in the incident. They are currently undergoing treatment at a local health post.
