Police in Kapilvastu district arrested two absconding Maoist People's Liberation Army (PLA) personnel along with arms on Sunday night.

Ganesh Bhandari and Dhir Bahadur Pariyar, both residents of Gajrangkot VDC-2, Jumla, had fled from Krishnasen Smriti Brigade in Rupandehi district few months ago. They were arrested with pistols, three-round of bullets and three khukuri's from a house they were staying in at Badganga-6, Rajpur.

Police said the arrested duo have confessed that they joined the Maoist splinter group led by former Maoist leader and minister Matrika Yadav after fleeing from their UN-monitored camp in Rupandehi.

The locals informed the police about the duo after they threatened one Jiwan Chhetri of nearby Barganga VDC with their weapons during a dispute. nepalnews.com
