The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has concluded that a police woman in District Police Office, Accham, was gang raped by fellow police personnel and recommended the government take action against the guilty.
In a report released by the commission in capital Sunday, the national rights watchdog stated that six male police personnel stationed at the post raped a woman constable after making her unconscious with drugs.
NHRC said assistant sub inspector Dan Singh Bhandari, head constables Birendra Bam, Karbir Thalal and Biradutta Badu and constables Jagadish Pandeya and Narivan Mahatara were involved in the incident.
NHRC has recommended punishing the police personnel under the criminal offence act and ensuring security of the women police in their job stations in future. nepalnews.com
