Amidst the fresh round of political unrest brought about by their nationwide agitation, the top leadership of Unified CPN (Maoist) met ambassadors and top diplomatic officials of India, Britain, United States of America including other countries in the capital on Tuesday to reassure them that the Maoist stir will be peaceful and will not slip into violence.
In the meeting that took place at a five star hotel, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chief of Maoist party's foreign cell Krishna Bahadur Mahara including other leaders were present.
Talking to media-persons after the meeting, Mahara said that the meeting basically dwelt on the Maoists' nationwide agitation and the effect it will have on peace process.
He claimed that the foreign diplomats were convinced about the Maoists' commitment to the ongoing peace process after the meeting.
The ambassadors of Britain, France, Denmark and Finland including top diplomats of United States of America and India were present at the meeting. nepalnews.com
