CPN (UML) Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal has said that the Indian leaders want Nepali political parties to work together for the common goal of constitution drafting and taking the peace process to a logical conclusion.

Khanal said so after holding seperate meetings with Indian finance minister and former foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee and leader of main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lal Krishna Advani, in New Delhi on Wednesday.

He also met with Indian foreign secretary Nirupama Rao the same day.

Both Mukherjee and Advani stressed on the need for consensus and unity among the major political parties of Nepal to resolve the problems the country faces, Khanal told reporters after the meeting.

During the meeting, Khanal briefed the Indian leaders of the latest  political developments in Nepal and said his party was always for consensus.

The Indian leaders, in turn, assured they would always support Nepal's peace and constitution drafting process, according to Khanal.

The Indian leaders also expressed concern with Khanal over media reports that Nepali Maoists supported the Indian Maoists morally, it is learnt.

At the meeting with foreign secretary Rao, Khanal discussed issues related to the implementation of the recently signed trade treaty between Nepal and India.

She had hosted a luncheon in honor of Khanal at Hotel Taj, Wednesday.

UML chairman Khanal is on a five-day tour of India at the invitation of the Indian government. He is also scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh and Congress (I) president Sonia Gandhi. nepalnews.com

Nepal is like a State of India, admit it or not. All the leaders go to India to
update country's political condition and get their blessings to lead Nepal's
government. But in front of Nepali public, these leaders talk about National
sovereignty, bideshi prabhu, bideshi dalal.......blah blah blah. It is partly
Nepal's public fault as well. Why are we still following these leaders? We are
the ones who made them leaders, right?

Indian leaders want Nepali political parties to unite..Sounded like India wants
Nepal to get united to India to become a new state of India just like
Nagaland,Mizoram,manipur or Sikkim..
Day isn't far ... Like The Sonia
Gandhi" We will take over Nepal not by guns but by ballot box" I would
take the pport of any other country rather than going around with Indian one.

It is always easier to understand the politics, if we use the opposite meaning.
For e.g. "India wants the Nepali parties to unite". It's a clear message
that India does not want.
