Ethnicity base for federal states, says Dr Bhattarai

Unified CPN (Maoist) vice chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has reiterated his party's stand for autonomy of language, ethnicity and region as essential ingredients for federal system.

Speaking at a function in the capital on Saturday, Dr Bhattarai said geography alone cannot be the basis for creating federal states.

He further said that in new Nepal constitutional guarantee to self-decision is a must for ensuring equal rights to all ethnicities. He also called for more debate to choose a suitable place for the national capital when the country moves towards federalism and Kathmandu turns into a Newa state.

Other parties have rejected the idea of federal states created on ethnic lines and have proposed for a variety of issues for determining names of the states. nepalnews.com

This is what i wanted to implement.
1. English as official language
2. Each
ethnic group language to be second language. that is rai language 4 rai, grg 4
grg, tharu 4 tharu and so on.
3. Third and Optional--> Nepali language

This
way it is fair to every ethnic group in running of Nepal.
Every ethnic group
languages is saved from being extinction.
Nepal image will be enhanced plus it's
education/industry will improve.

Well it's up to you whether you want to introduce yourself as Nepali or not,
it's your choice! But I am proud of who I am.

You are okay with the
discrimination which most of the people face in Nepal? what about Tamang, they
are not allowed to join our Royal Nepal Army Force, isn't it? what do you say
about that?

Speaking our native languages doesn't divide us! what divided us
is depressing our native languages of each community, that what I don't like.


why not, as English is an International Language and as you can see, our young
boys/girls are already speaking it, and to be honest English is much more easier
to speak than Nepali Language.

Don't be afraid of Change! nothing is working,
why not try plan C, let's see what happens. How do you/we know whether it's
(federal states) gonna kill us or save us?

Remember once, many people used to
think that without a king, we are gonna die, our day to day responsibilitie...

Lets make >40 community language and start teaching from now and stop
speaking Nepali from today. if we can we will speak in english. again why to
speak english? I will talk in Tamang and you talk in Newari. if we dont
understand there is unirsal laguage i e gesture. kam chali halchha.

they should/Bramin led government should allow to teach all the ethnic history
equally (not only Bramin's i.e. Baburam Acharya) in our school text
book!!!

Then we all will know the real history of all.

What he describes...based on what?

Newar has it's own history, Limbu Ban has
it's own history and here comes a Bramin who was supported by government because
his language is Nepali and writes Nepal's history???

when Prithvi Narayan
snatched nepal from Limbu and Newar and Magar and made one Nation at that time,
there was no sing of Khas/Nepali Bhasa?

Prithvi Narayan forced Newars,
Limbu, Magar etc to use/speak this bloody language and demolished our own
language.

its not fair that he deliberately announced that Khas/Nepali
language to be a National Language of Nepal, that's all.

So, guys anything
that comes from historian Baburam Acharaya, first thing is to remember that he
is a Bramin.

The Kusunada language is now extinct - it is so believed. The Summer Insute of
Linguistic-SIL has published a report stating the Kusunda language as
extinct. An Austrian scholar Jhoan Reinhard had reported in mid-seventies that
there were only few speakers left alive, only two so he had urged to carry out a
thorough research on the Kusunda language. But then the Khas speaking Nepali
government did not listen to him.
So it's up to Janajatis to save our ideny,
culture and language which is the true Nepali in nature.

Our first King Yalambar fought in the Mahabharata war protecting Nepal's
sovereignty. Without Yalambar,
Nepal wouldn't have existed today.
Nepal would
have become part of Greater India.
In UK "Yalambar Day" is already being
observed and celebrated.
Therefore Nepal must make a public holiday designated
as "Yalambar Day" to save our ideny and culture.

If you want to save nepal, then save your language and ethnicity first, same
your own backyards first only then you can same whole Nepal otherwise Indian
will over take our cities and overtake our language.

Because we are not a
politically strong nation and our border control with India is very weak. we
have (our people at border) already faced a huge problem in our boarder.
Biratnager has already occupied by Indians, and now Kathmandu is the next to be
occupied by Indians.

Only Dharan is saved by it's people (Rai, Limbu). So
it's very important that we save our language and ideny. But this doesn't mean
we are talking about separating Nation!!! but we are talking about Saving and
making Nation strong!!! this way a foreigner can't occupied our city and
streets!!!

It's like a Shashu & Buhari fighting, daju bhai fighting for
father's property in most household they don't want others/neighbors to know
about what...
