Speaking at a press conference held at the end of the meeting, home secretary Govind Kusum said the two countries have expressed commitment not to allow each other's soil to be used against the neighbour.
"The two countries have agreed to extend all kinds of support for mutual benefit," he said.
The two sides will hold regular meetings to improve border security, check cross-border crime and smuggling of fare currencies.
According to Kusum, the Indian side has assured to look into the complaints of mistreatment of Nepali settlers in bordering areas by India's Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) personnel.
