The parties have reached an agreement for special provision in the new constitution for special rights to Dalits and other marginalised ethnic communities.

During a discussion on paper presented by sub-committee on Tuesday, the members of the State Restructuring Committee under the Constituent Assembly agreed for special provision for their better participation in governance.

The committee decided to recommend 3 percent quota at central level and 5 percent at state level Dalit reservation quota. In other sectors, the quotas will be based on the population ratio.

The committee has asked the parties to present their views on state restructuring immediately, warning the parties will be left out if they fail to comply with the orders.

In the meantime, CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress are scheduled to table their views on state restructuring at the committee on Wednesday. UML has proposed 15 states while NC is yet to finalise its vision on federalism. nepallnews.com

Dalit were lucky people of Nepal.

In the history other Chetri doing wrong was
death penalty and Bahun doing wrong was to be Dalit.

so you Dalit do not call
your self Dalit.

this was better to be Dalit then deth penalty.

a fair consution should not give special provision to anyone. one group today
can be the most powerful tomorrow, then what? such short sighted views are only
harmful to everyone in the long term ... those asking for it are only looking
for their quick gain, nothing else.

Hi Guys (For those individuals who were on Restructuring committee),

Guys you
have done nothing so far than wasting time. You guys have done nothing so far
than wasting money of the innocent people.

You stupid bunch of individuals
nominated on the committee must be out from it and the janta will decide all
about it.

You do not have faith on people and we do not on you guys as well.
Since you have thought on it in a very narrow minded view and approach, you are
inviting another conflict in the country. I am sure that you are inviting
conflict no doubt..may be ethnic conflict soon.

Therefore, the old minded
system has to go in bin now and everyone should get equal share in any
departments whether it is government or NGOs etc..

Please take it as an advise
and think about it in more depth rather than making a haste
proposal/decision.

God Bless to our mighty Nepal and its people.

Sherpa

There is yet not seen any clear situation about to come much talked new
consution,so only talking much and showing dream have no much significant
value.First needs to fully ured to people that these power-hunger political
parties are not for power but for people, then they must not decide the
substantial issues of land of law ( Consution )which must first come to people
for their endorsement.Showing golden dream doing pennyless job does not be
helpful in gaining heart of general people.CA must not be made earning money and
position to currupt and disloyal politiocian,is the very urgent step that needs
to be proved instantly.Mind all power-hunger leaders about their completely
downing credibility and reliability, which might be fatal to all of you guys.Jay
