A group of Heads of Mission in Nepal on Friday urged all political parties to continue to abide by both the letter and spirit of the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) and "rededicate" themselves to delivering the commitments they made to the people of Nepal.

Expressing concern that progress on implementing the agreements has stalled, the envoys said that there is also clear lack of will to address conflict-era human rights abuses and an unwillingness to tackle the continuing state of impunity in Nepal.

"We note that the Constituent Assembly has fallen behind schedule and that there is so far no agreement on the future structure and governance of Nepal, " reads the statement jointly issued by the mission of Australia, Denmark, European Commission, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, UK and USA on the third anniversary of the signing of the CPA. "A failure to agree on a vision for the future and to draft the constitution on time will be a clear disregard of the expectations and aspirations of Nepal's citizens, and will set back the country's economic and social development."

The envoys further said that other critical aspects of the CPA remain incomplete - the rehabilitation and integration of Maoist ex-combatants, and determining the structure of the Nepal Army is still not under way, and called on the parties to put aside their differences and work together to agree on the creation of a more "prosperous, equitable and democratic Nepal". nepalnews.com

dear janta

Which system you like?

I like King.

There was very much
peace in the country.
People could not go against king. but after 47 it was
free. so we need the system loose than 47 and tight than 47.

I am against
with the new Nepal system.
King was the best, is the best , will be the best
for Nepal

I fully agree with Mr. Hari. The suggestion given by the Friends of Nepal is a
last suggestion for the deaf political parties in Nepal. The suggestion given by
the world body and the Friends of Nepal may be treated as "interference"
and the "Sikkimization" by the Enemy of Nepal is being the
"suggestion" for our Lendup government and Lendup parties and Lendup
embly. Shame to the traitors and looters!

Foreign diplomatic mission representatives in Nepal are right as the leaders of
all political parties are not sensitive towards their duties given by the people
through Consuent embly Elections. They are fighting for the chair and power.
They have forgotten what for they have elected and sent to the embly. People
will not forgive if they fail to understand the sentiments and aspirations of
the people. Democracy means consolidations, realignment, consensus and trust to
each other. In parliament democracy one has to rule and others are to sit in
the oppositon benches but our leaders are in the race for grabing power by hook
and crook. It is bad precedent setting for the future generations. Development
is totally stopped. There is no indication of any developmental work is taking
place in the country. Only by digging kuchha roads in hilly areas would not
suffice to fulfill the empty stomach of the poor peoples. Our young ...
