Constituent Assembly (CA) chairman Subash Nemwang has urged the political parties to take initiatives to permanently end obstruction in the parliament.
Talking to media persons Wednesday afternoon after the House endorsed the budget bills, Nemwang thanked opposition party Unified CPN (Maoist) for letting the House to function for the passage of the budget.
Stating that several issues remain to be solved through parliament, Nemwang called for politics of consensus and seek solution to all problems through dialogue. He said formation of a high-level political mechanism could be a good way out of the current deadlock.
Nemwang mentioned that failure of the parliament, due to obstruction, to pass new laws or amend the old ones has hindered the mission to institutionalise republic. He said around 100 bills that help strengthen republic have been locked up in parliament secretariat.
Refuting rumours about dissolution of the CA, Nemwang said, the only alternative not to make it happen is to let it function smoothly. nepalnews.com
