A meeting of the Maoist standing committee’s officials held in Naya Bazaar, Thursday morning, concluded such decision was against an agreement between its chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at a meeting Tuesday evening. Speaking to journalists after the meeting Maoist vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said, his party would talk to the PM again and remind him of the agreement.
The cabinet meeting on Wednesday had decided, without mentioning the Kailali incident categorically, the Maoists had breached CPA. It had also decided alert the stake-holders and the international community on the same.
Chairman Dahal had requested PM Nepal to instruct home minister Bhim Rawal to revoke his statement on the Kailali incident, provide compensation to the kins of the deceased and arrange for treatment of the injured of the Kailali incident and address the problems of the landless squatters.
Reports say, chairman Dahal had asked PM Nepal to instruct minister Rawal to withdraw his statement in Wednesday's cabinet meeting and take other decisions as soon as possible.
Maoists have objected to home minister Rawal’s statement which shows the Maoists at fault in the Kailali incident. Rawal had mentioned, he will not resign and take action against any security personnel involved in the incident as they had used minimum possible force. In the statement following the Kailali incident, Rawal had mentioned the Maoist leaders should resign instead as they were responsible for the death of the innocent people in Kailali. nepalnews.com
