Govt to form 41 new municipalities within 100 days

Local Development Minister Purna Kumar Sherma has said the government will form 41 additional municipalities.

Speaking at an interaction programme organized in the capital Friday, he said final preparations are underway to announce the additional municipalities within 100 days.

Stating the need of municipality election to resolve the permanent problem seen in the local sector of Nepal, Minister Sherma stated that the effectiveness and strength in local sectors are impossible without election.

"As soon as the political mechanisms will be formed, the new tasks in regard will be initiated", he said.

Municipality election in local level is impossible without political consensus and writing the constitution in time, he added. He further urged all parties for consensus to end the existing political deadlock. i

These people are crazy. Instead of increasing municipalities one by one they are
most welcome to declare nepal as a municipal country!!! This might work better(

I know this is not the subject everyone is commenting on but i just cannot get
it... All political heads and sheds always seem to blandish, urging parties to
get together for consensus.

My point is so-called political leaders bark about
it all the while but no one actually is really committed to do anything about
it. Call it an scepticism but that is the truth i am afraid, and which is
unlikely change for a very long time. Unfortunately i begin to realise it
probably is in every Nepali's blood; hypocrites!

Hence, no change in the
country's situation.

What a sad News!
By creating more municipalities will increase fixed cost to the
Nation and once we announced new Municipalities it can't be stop by any other
Govt or party so please think to decrease the municipalities instead. We can
utilize nations revenue in other creative field rather than creating new
Municipalities. So I will suggest to reduce existing municipalities by merging
them to each other according to the proper location rather than creating new.

You all parties combined do not have guts to hold municiple elections, what a
shame! All parties even if combined cannot stand to defeat the system of
Consutional Monarchy and Hindu Rastra. The faces of Girija Prasad Koirala,
Madhav Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Dr, Babu Ram Bhattarai,
Mohan Baidya are exposed. These are the faces of foreign agents and useless
party members. Nepal will be destroyed unless these cheaters are thrown in a
dustbin.
Call for the REFERENDUM to make the people of Nepal
supreme.

i see no reson to have more municipalities. if we can make function to what is
already there, it would be worth.
it is like making kathmdu metro to get funds
from other countries and not being able to keep it clean at the minimum
level.
it is only to make a name for the minister or the ruling elite that
during their reign new muni. were created. where is the resourse?
let the
minister have a creative vision...
