Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel termed Dahal’s statement as an expression of defeated mentality.
The Maoists have called Delhi for talks as they have lost trust of Nepali people, political parties and the civil society, here, Poudel told the media following Dahal’s remarks. This will further increase foreign intervention, he added.
NC leader Krishna Situala said, the Maoists are blaming others to cover their own weaknesses by calling New Delhi for talks.
NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi said, this is Dahal’s art of inviting New Delhi in Nepal’s internal politics.
CPN (UML) leader and Prime Minister’s political advisor Raghuji Pant termed Dahal’s remark as an illusion saying, such statements would not affect the government. It is his (Dahal’s) illusion to see foreigners as the boss of his own country.
Rastriya Janashakti Party chairman and former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa said, the Maoists have revealed their real intention by announcing their interest for talks with India.
It is anti-national for any major party to say they want talks with India. It is a humiliation for all Nepalis, said Thapa.
Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) Upendra Yadav said, it is against the welfare of the country to call foreigners for talks to solve the country’s own problems.
MJF-Loktantrik chairman and deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar has termed Dahal’s statement as humiliation to Nepali people’s dignity.
He has undermined the Nepali people by announcing talks with India. This is a result of his double standard, Gachchhadar said. He wants to prove Nepal does not have its own sovereignty by talking with India on internal issues, he added.
Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party vice chairman Hridayesh Tripathee has termed Dahal’s statement as an expression of frustration. He has developed a habit of giving such statements due to his strategic high ambition, Tripathee added. nepalnews.com
