President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav administering oath of office and secrecy to Vice President Parmananda Jha...
Vice President Parmananda Jha's post has been reactivated from Sunday after he took fresh oath of office and secrecy in both Nepali and his mother tongue Maithali.

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav administered the oath of office to VP Jha in Nepali during the special swearing-in ceremony held at the president's office in Shital Niwas.

The post of Vice President had remained inactive for almost six months after Jha refused to take oath of office and secrecy in Nepali as ordered by the Supreme Court on August 23, 2009.

The Office of the Vice President had registered a letter at the President's office Saturday afternoon with a copy of the oath's translation in Maithali, confirming VP Jha's fresh oath taking to resolve the long-standing controversy that has given birth to a new round of language debate in the country.    .

The President's office had written to the vice president's office on Friday about the oath taking.

The latest arrangement became possible after the parliament amended the Interim Constitution for the seventh time including a provision allowing President, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ministers to take oath of office and secrecy in their respective mother tongues.

According to the amended constitution, someone wishing to take oath in his/her mother tongue needs to register a translation of the oath in the relevant language at the President's office 24 hours before the function.

The confusion on who will take charge as the acting-head-of-state when President Yadav embarks on a India visit next week has been resolved with Jha's oath-taking. nepalnews.com

when people know that the national language is so important why waste the time
of government and people. The people in post thesemselves pull the activities
like GUM.
When people find difficulty to speak and take oath in their own
language, then why take the pride of being VP.Its of no worth.

And if there
is the sense of nationality then we dont need to take oath also.We just need to
fulfill our duty.

LETS begin fulfilling our duty, or else living is of no
worth.Lets find meaning of being a citizen...from now itself

Retaking the oath is only drama of the bahuns, Jha revived in the VP is under
presure of India and Girija. Parmananda Jha is Indian, not the Maithali.

Now that Indian dalal, jha, if has changed, a chance for him is open to respect
madesi people and the mother language Nepali. lets hope he has changed to serve
for his mother Nepal. If he again wanna do anything bad, against the Nepal, our
madesh and we Nepali people by slaving the Indian ministers he should be kicked
out to sent him to his malik in India to clean the shoes of indian leaders.
