Used to seeing "political conspiracies" behind everything that goes wrong in  the country, the Maoists suspect that media tycoon Jamim Shah may have also been killed for "political reasons".

Senior Maoist leader Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' on Wednesday said that "political motives" cannot be ruled out behind the ruthless murder of the Shah. He didn't elaborate.

Speaking at a programme in Ratnanagar of Chitwan, Thapa said that the current government seems helpless to protect its citizens as the murder of Shah took place in one of the most tightly guarded areas of the capital in broad day-light.

"The government still doesn't seem to be serious regarding improving the security situation of the country despite the steep rise in violence and crime in the country," he said, adding that the people of the country have not been able to feel secure due to the government's inability to reign over armed criminal groups.

About a month ago, when the Maoists were campaigning to protect Nepal's sovereignty from "Indian expansionism", party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had said that King Birendra and UML leader Madan Bhandari were assassinated due to their "nationalist stance" and for not yielding to India. nepalnews.com

Nepali Goru  - Maoists...   |113.199.145.xxx |2010-02-12 03:26:42
Maoists are the terrorists. They are not the politicians. They are born with the
concept of terrorism. They came to power after killing the innocent Nepalis and
they are continuing to do the same thing. They wont and cant leave their
original atude. They will keep killing and grow violence in nation. Next, they
will push the nation towards civil war. Selfish politicians.... u alll

Badal you guys used to do the same thing when you were in so-called jungle. The
guys or group who called Mr Shah are also like you, who believe in killings and
power (underground or overground, delending on the situation). Therefore, shut
up!
Who is RBT   |124.108.52.xxx |2010-02-11 13:47:52
Ram Bahadur Thapa is one of the many terrorist who inspires many Nepalese to
fight and kill each other. That shouldn't have happened that Maoist victimize
most of the illeterate, weak, inncocent, non politicians people during
insurgency and even now.Thier terrorist activities goes on continue. They killed
Nepalese getting support from Indian and Pakastani terrorist. Story goes on;
after Maoist come into political power then they killed many people, kidnap and
torture and never punish the killer instead Maoist promoted in high rank. This
RBT killer just blame others but he is the killer who is not better than
Prachanda and Baburam terrorists. They are called Nepal National Terrorist in
new Nepal.

I blame maoists for the rise in crime and violence in the country.they were the
one to put guns at the hand of innocent nepalese people.i I think of the
peaceful nepal before maoist ( mao...) came to existence. Murder of a single
person use to come as a headline in the national media.
Now people are no more
scared of neither blood nor the death.it has become a routine now.
Job well done

New Nepal  - Whoever is thief, loudest voice   |69.201.149.xxx |2010-02-11 04:35:47
Since Maoists have kept their weapons and have not renounced violence a Nepali
phrase is most apt here - "whoever is thief, loudest voice" Badai cha

How the government will be able to maintain law and order and security in the
country onless the self claimed largest party Maoist is involved in criminal
activities all over the country. First they should dismiss all their murderer
YCLs and maintain the human right. Please just don't blame the government, look
your face in the miror before bleming others.
what about this news "Maoists
plan to recruit discharged combatants in YCL" can you justify that maoists
want peace in the country? ......
Shashi  - Probe Maoists Links To Media People Like Jamim   |122.161.242.xxx |2010-02-11 03:33:01
It is stunning to see maoists supporting a media man like Jamim, who has
doubtful connections with underworld. I am sure he did a lot for maoists
unlawful activities and must have been a provider to them. He played big role
being a big media barron that he was. Why cannot we have a real nepali being a
big, big media owner. why do you guys have to have people like Jamim. I am not
saying he should have been killed, but why is everyone crying so much on his
death, especially maoists and thats really doubtful there. He had connections
with Prachanda so what sort of media person he was anyone can guess that. Lets
encourage some realy nepali person to become a big powerful media owner that
will be in interest of Nepal.

All the bull of political leaders. Crime rate is rising in Nepal due to the lack
of proper enforcement of law. No one is safe in Nepal from the criminals, very
worse situation, so I strongly demand with the present legislature memebres and
the government please ponder your brain on this issue. Of course Jamim is
media person so the related peron vowed, for the ordinary person who will vow,
he will die like beast. A criminal should be brought in the judicary and for tis
a fast track court should be setup to give quick punishment to the criminal. If
legislartue memeber cannot p the harsh law then they have no right to be the
representtive of people.

jamim shah was murdered forpolitical dislikes but which type of politics
disliked him?probe will show the type of politics that kiled shah.the wonder is
how the murderer managed run away in such security tight aria ?why this aria was
not quickly incirculed by security personnels?message of murder was not
discipated all over the points of cheque why all these questions directs
responsibility towards police chequing systemthat made kathmandu velly heaven
for murderers escape?who should take this responsibility.but only pointing
police responsible does not suffies for life security but the victim and its
alyes also must be in contact with police asking help and trying help for police
.other wise how police knows all individuals business which can be murderouly
fetal to individuals

I don't mean to support existing government at all but Badal's views about
protecting Nepalese citizen is ridiculous. We all know what happened to Ram
Hari's murderer. It proves that Maoists are really good at protecting criminals
not the citizens... where is citizens' protection? Nepalese people have been
abused physically, psychologically, mentally, spiritually, culturally,
environmentally,..... can anyone protect us? If we didn't have to spend money in
cantonments and barracks..CA members...our fate wouldn't be better?
