CA chairman Subash Nemwang

At a time when timely promulgation of the new constitution is increasingly getting doubtful, Constituent Assembly chairman Subas Nemwang has said the CA might go for a concise version of the statute to make sure that it does not miss the May 28 deadline.

Speaking to reporters in Pokhara Monday, Nemwang said a concise constitution could be issued within the stipulated time if it became impossible to draft a full-fledged constitution.

Similarly, alluding to the dispute among major parties over the timing of the integration of Maoist combatants, Nemwang said the Interim Constitution does not mention whether the integration should be carried out before or after the new constitution.

The ruling parties including the UML and the Nepali Congress have been saying the new constitution cannot be promulgated until the integration of the cantoned combatants is done while the Maoists have been insisting that constitution-drafting and integration go simultaneously.  nepalnews.com

What he is speaking is against the interim consution and people's aspiration of a good consution. A concise consution made without delibneration and participation odf the people will further start new conflicts. He is curtailing the rights of the CA member to make the consution through deliberation and participation. The ca members have not yet discussed the drasft report clause wise. He is just using the CA but working behind ythe curtain to write an elit's consution. He is betarying the country.
