IFJ to probe Dhital murder; police announce cash reward for tip-off

A mission from the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) is due to reach Dang on Friday to carry a probe into the murder of chairman of Tulsipur FM, Devi Prasad Dhital.

According to the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), the IFJ mission which also comprises FNJ president Dharmendra Jha left for Dang today. As part of the probe, the mission will talk to various persons and organisations and study the circumstances of Dhital's murder.

Meanwhile, police in Dang today announced a reward of Rs 50,000 to anybody giving credible information on the murder. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxman Giri, such an announcement has been made as the high-level investigation team has failed to trace the suspects so far.

Police have given four phone numbers 9748524699, 9841500740 and 9841450051 and 082562363 (landline) for giving information.

A gang of about four persons had shot and killed Dhital at Jaspur, some 8 km south of Tulsipur at about 7.45 pm on July 22. nepalnews.com
