In line with upward spiral in tourist arrivals in the country, hotel reservations in Sauraha has also increased by 50 percent this year compared to last year, according to reports.

A majority of the hotel rooms in Sauraha, famous jungle safari destination in Chitwan, have been booked from mid-October to mid-December.

Hotel entrepreneurs have ascribed this encouraging pace of reservations to the constant flow of positive message about Nepal in the international tourism arena. Generally, the tourists visiting Sauraha are spending from two days to a few weeks as per the tour package.

In order to cater to rising bookings, hoteliers are busy enhancing their service capacity. It is also learnt that hotels which were closed during the rainy season have been refurbished to accommodate increasing number of guests.

Bookings have witnesses increment in most of the big hotels for October and November. Tourists from India, Australia, Europe and China have booked via travel agencies.

Hotel entrepreneurs are said to have increased their tariff by 30 percent indicating a rise in market prices. In Sauraha, hotels charges range from Rs 500 to Rs. 2,500 per night depending upon the quality of service they render. nepalnews.com
