Three new banks enter secondary market

Two commercial banks and one development bank, have been listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange.

Sunrise Bank, Prime Commercial Bank and Vibor development bank have entered the country's sole secondary market. 12.5 million units of shares of Sunrise Bank, 10 million units of shares of Prime Bank and 6.8 million units of shares of Vibor Development Bank have been listed at Nepse, it is learnt.

The shares of these financial institutions will be traded from Nov. 3. nepalnews.com

It is nice to see so many bank flourishing in Nepal and most of them are doing
great.
But having worked in foreign bank and seeing the current housing crisis
in the US and the current recession, I doubt someday we may fall into a huge
crisis because of the loan practice of these Nepali Banks.
I totally disagree
with the price rise for property/land in Nepal. The banks are to be blamed for
this price rise and if it doesn't stop the whole Nepali market is gonna be
affected with this crisis.
We need to learn from bigger state and stop
unnecessarily investing in real estate which is not all productive.
Having a 3
bedroom house in Kathmandu would atleast cost Rs. 60-70 lakhs..while the same
can be rented for 6-7 thousand. So, I see no reason for buying a house (it will
be a lot cheaper renting). The only reason why one would do that would be with
an expectation that the price would increase and thanks to the bank that is
