The Chinese government has vowed to provide a soft loan of Rs. 14.97 billion (US$200 million) to Nepal for hydropower project and infrastructure development.

Of the total loan, US$ 120 million will be channelised for the 61-MW Upper Trishuli-A hydropower project in Nuwakot district, it is said.

According to the Finance Ministry, the remaining US$ 80 million could be used to reconstruct the Pokhara Airport.

Finance secretary Rameshwor Prasad Khanal and Exim Bank Vice President Li Jun signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect at the Finance Ministry on Wednesday.

China pledged the loan in an annual 1.75 percent interest rate. This is said to be the lowest interest rate the Chinese bank has provided to Nepal as the bank has 2 percent rate in minimum. nepalnews.com

But we have to make sure that bahun-chettri leaders
do not pocket this money as usual.
This time we have to make sure that this loan
is used effectively.

Foreign countries MUST STOP to give any loan or any monetry help to Nepal
because these loan money dissapear into Government corrupted officials and
national criminals' personal pocket. Like Sujata and Sher bahadur etc. Foreign
countries must bring complete project plan from top to bottom and build it for
Nepal and hand over to Nepal. So there will be at least something visible and
physically utilizable or valuable.

When will Nepal goona pay back that loan? I worry if Nepal can pay back its
annual interest back to China. Great lum sum of money for politicians to
transfer into their saving account or their family memebers a/c respectively and
rest remaining amt for development.Great.I cannot bear that loan on mybehalf,
how can I.

Below comment seems, is the product of beggar's schooling. Beggars always think
of begging more and alway does arithmetic of how much he has earned.
I remember
a saying “ Magne lai tato Bhat”.

Why not, we say that we will develop our
nation with our own effort & resource.
Mind it, it is possible. What we lack is
the will & vision of our rulers. After all they are the product of same school.

CHINA IS GIVING A LOAN 200 million dollars . SO WHAT ... IT iS NOT A BiG DEAL .

IF CHINA REALLY WANTS TO HELP ... WHY THEY NOT GIVING AID .

WHY THE LOAN IN
ANNUAL 1.7 PERCENT INTEREST RATE.

CHINA IS TAKING ADVANTAGE FROM US.

YOU KNOW
,THEY CHARGING ANNUAL INTEREST IS 3.5 MILLION DOLLAR (25 CAROR NEPALI RS.)

ACTuALLY THEY ARE NOT HELPING .

LOOK AT TRADE BETWEEN CHINA aND NEPAL :

Annual Nepal-China trade stands at Rs. 26 billion, with the balance strongly in
FAVOUR OF CHINA.  China last year exported goods worth Rs. 24 BILLION to Nepal
while Nepal exported goods worth Rs. 1.9 BILLIOn.

SO WE NEPALI DONT NEED YOUR
LOAN . IF ThEY REALLY WANTS TO HELP THEN ... THOSE MONEY SHOULD GiVE US AS A
AID.

OTHeRWISe wE dOn't WANT YOUR ( CIHINA) MONeY . Take it back .

PLEASE,
NEATA HO NA LIW CHINA BA TA SAPAT . CHAHEN DAI NA HAMI LAI.
Kiran  - Lets make International Airport at Pokhara   |219.8.135.xxx |2009-11-05 02:37:01
The condition of Nepal in South Asia is shamefull. There is only one
International Airport TIA in Nepal. For the promotion of Tourism Industries, why
our governments do not initiate to make International Airport at Pokhara? The
land has been already available for this purpose. But why our successive
governments shake their legs for development work?
